Meet Kora — the devoted mama who gave everything, even when she had nothing left.
Kora’s story began in the desert—alone, exhausted, and trying to survive after recently having a litter. The conditions she endured had taken a visible toll. She was more than 20 pounds underweight, severely dehydrated, and suffering from malnutrition.
Her body was depleted… but her will to keep going never faded.
On February 23rd, 2025, Kora came into our care, and her journey toward healing began.
From the start, it was clear Kora needed time—more time than most to rest, to recover, and to finally be cared for the way she always deserved.
We focused on rebuilding her from the inside out. Proper nutrition, hydration, and medical support became the foundation of her recovery. Slowly, her body began to regain strength. Weight returned, her energy improved, and the physical signs of neglect started to fade.
But what stood out most wasn’t just her recovery—it was her spirit.
Despite everything she had been through, Kora remained gentle, loving, and deeply connected to people. There’s a quiet strength about her—a softness that speaks to the kind of dog she’s always been, even in the hardest moments.
Today, Kora is on her way to becoming the confident dog she was always meant to be.
She carries herself with a calm, steady presence and a heart that’s ready to love again. After spending so long just trying to survive, Kora is finally learning what it means to simply live—to feel safe, to be cared for, and to enjoy the world around her.

We've provided Kora with a full set of vaccination, microchipping and she was spayed on March 20th, 2025. We have successfully put on the weight she needed and have started training.
Kora is both house trained and crate trained but due to the trauma she experienced, she is struggling with basic things preventing her from being ready for meet and greets and adoption. She is terrified of being outside, with the exception of the backyard for bathroom breaks, and we believe her traumatic capture has caused an intense fear of being leashed.
We are dedicated to working her through her fears and helping to rebuild her faith in humans while recovering the confident, beautiful girl we know she is. One day at a time. Her well-being is our priority!
Kora has been wonderful with all people she's been introduced to indoors. A full evaluation of her home's needs will be done once her training has been completed.
