System of Misfit Rescue
Thanks so much for your passion about the dogs in our community who need saving and for thinking of Misfit Ranch for the dog you are wishing to find help for.

Currently, Misfit Ranch is a limited capacity rescue who also fosters for another rescue in our community who needed assistance and for members of our military as well, in an effort to keep their dogs out of the shelter system.

We are in constant contact with our local shelters and always know who has commitment dates. While we specialize in working breeds and dogs needing medical/behavioral assistance on the euthanasia list, we are at full capacity. Because of our limited capacity, our availability to take in dogs is entirely dependent on our current residents being adopted. When one of our residents is adopted, we immediately pull a dog scheduled for euthanasia. With this system, we are constantly helping dogs in need but we are also always at full capacity.

Most of the rescues in our area (not all) have access to the euthanasia list and have pull rights. These rescues rely on their current residents being adopted to free up the space in order to pull/save another dog. The best way that the community can help save dogs on the euthanasia list at shelters is to help get the dogs who are currently with rescues adopted out, to make room for their teams to pull more dogs from the shelter.
The community can support rescues without spending a dime by following their social media profiles and bringing attention to their posts by liking, commenting and sharing adoptable pets. Encourage friends and family to support on social media as well. While you may not be able to adopt a dog, you may be connected on social media to someone who can!

It's important to the Misfit Ranch team that the community knows our goal is to help as many dogs as possible, which is why we are currently in the process of expanding. Unfortunately, construction takes time and we are reliant on the community for assistance. You can learn more about our expansion efforts by visiting The Ranch page of our website. Once expansion is completed, it will instantly more than quadruple the number of dogs we can help at one time, all of which being pulled from the euthanasia lists at our local shelters.
Until we are able to complete construction, our current rescue system is what we are limited by. If you'd like to help get us closer to our goal of relieving our overcrowded shelter system while saving dogs from unnecessary euthanasia, please consider following us on social media, sharing our mission and posts with your followers, sponsoring one of our construction projects, donating to our expansion, donating goods and/or services, sponsoring a rescue or connecting us with a person or local business that can.

We love connecting with our dog-loving community and appreciate your support!
