Themba was in and out of the shelter system for a year and a half prior to coming to Misfit Ranch, being passed from one home to the next, through people who admittedly had no experience with his assumed breed (Belgian Malinois or Malinois mix) 😢 Without knowing his need for both mental stimulation and physical exercise, and the need for training to bring him to his full potential, he was repeatedly given up on and returned.
🔑 Fostering saves lives but pairing dogs with experienced fosters is the key to a dog’s success. Unfortunately, Themba was mishandled by a frustrated foster who was inexperienced with his needs, which led to his loss of trust in people. From there, he was placed in a home with an elderly woman who couldn’t properly care for him which made his situation even more dire. With the shelter unable to care for his needs and having failed repeatedly in unsuitable foster homes, it was the end of his shelter story 💔
🙏🏼 That was until a wonderful shelter volunteer who knew how sweet this misunderstood boy was stepped in to connect him with us 🙌🏼 He joined the Misfit Ranch family on March 1st, 2025.
Themba is up to date on vaccinations, microchipped and neutered. He is in great health.
Themba is house trained, crate trained and has basic obedience training and is great in public.
Themba takes a moment to warm up to new people but with in a short amount of time new people get to see the goofball we've all grown to know and love. This handsome boy has beautiful eyes that pierce your soul and a contagious playfulness that's hard to resist.
Themba loves playing with other dogs and once comfortable with you, wants nothing more than to be by your side! If you're looking for a loyal BFF, Themba is your man.
