An age test was completed on Gretel and her birthday is estimated to be December 28th, 2018.

Meet Gretel — the gentle, resilient girl who never had to face the hardest moments alone.
Gretel’s story begins on the streets of Las Vegas during the peak of summer—when the desert heat is unforgiving and survival is never guaranteed.
She was found wandering alongside Hansel, another one of our residents, in triple-digit temperatures. Their condition told the story of what they had endured. Gretel’s paws were severely burned—so badly that healing took months of dedicated medical care, rest, and time.
But even in the worst of it… she wasn’t alone.
Through the pain and uncertainty, Gretel stayed by Hansel’s side—and that bond never wavered.
We spent nearly a year searching for where they came from, hoping someone would come forward. No one ever did. And in that time, it became clear that while they may have been left behind, they had never truly lost everything—they still had each other.
So we made them a promise. Together forever!
Gretel is in good health and up to date on vaccinations. She was chipped and spayed in April of 2023. Her latest weigh in was 80 lbs.
Gretel is house trained, crate trained and has basic obedience.
She knows sit, down and stay.
Today, Gretel is healed, thriving, and full of love.
With proper care and a safe place to recover, her body healed—but her spirit is what truly shines. Gretel is affectionate, playful, and incredibly social. She has a natural way of connecting with people and brings a light, joyful energy wherever she goes.
She enjoys everything from walks and outdoor adventures to quiet moments spent close to her people. Like Hansel, she’s happiest simply being part of your world—whatever that may look like.
Gretel has done well with people and other dogs, and her easygoing, friendly nature makes her a wonderful companion in the right home.
But the most important part of Gretel’s story will always be Hansel.
They’ve been through the hardest parts of life together—from surviving the streets to healing side by side—and their bond is something truly special. They rely on each other, comfort each other, and continue to move through life as a team.
Because of that, they are a bonded pair—and we’ve promised them they will always stay together.
Gretel’s story is one of resilience, companionship, and quiet strength.
She’s come so far from where she started, and now she’s ready for the life she deserves—one filled with love, stability, and the comfort of knowing she’ll never be left behind again.
