Meet Hansel — the survivor who never had to face it alone.
Hansel’s story begins on the streets of Las Vegas during the peak of summer—when the desert heat shows no mercy.
He was found wandering alongside another one of our Misfits, now known as Gretel, in triple-digit temperatures. Their paws told the story of what they had endured. Hansel’s were so severely burned that the damage went beyond the surface—exposed nerves, pain with every step, and a long road to healing ahead.
But even then… he wasn’t alone.
Through the worst of it, Hansel had Gretel had a bond that never broke.
We spent nearly a year searching for where they came from, hoping someone would come forward but no one ever did. And in that time, it became clear—they weren’t just surviving together, they were meant to stay together.
So we made them a promise. Together forever!

Hansel is in good health and up to date on vaccinations. He was chipped and neutered in April of 2023. His latest weigh in was 110 lbs.

Hansel is house trained, crate trained and has basic obedience.
He knows sit, down and stay.

Today, Hansel is fully healed, safe, and exactly who he was always meant to be.
With time, medical care, and a place to finally rest, his body recovered—but what never needed fixing was his heart. Despite everything he went through, Hansel has remained a loving, gentle, and deeply connected dog.
He truly enjoys being with people—soaking up attention, sharing affection, and simply being part of whatever you’re doing. Whether it’s heading out for an adventure, going on a hike, or settling in for a quiet night on the couch, Hansel is happiest right by your side.
He’s playful, affectionate, and easy to love.
Hansel has done well with people and dogs of all sizes, though at around 100 pounds, his size is something to be mindful of when considering the right home environment.
And then there’s Gretel.
They’ve been through the hardest parts of life together—from surviving the streets to healing side by side—and because of that, they are a bonded pair. They rely on each other, comfort each other, and bring out the best in one another.
We promised them they would never be separated.
So wherever Hansel goes, Gretel goes too.
Hansel’s story is one of survival, resilience, and unwavering connection.
Now, he’s just waiting for a home that has room for both of them—and a heart big enough to welcome a love like theirs.
If you’re ready for twice the love, twice the loyalty, and a bond that’s truly something special… Hansel (and Gretel) are ready to meet you.
