Looney was brought into our local shelter as a stray. The stress of being in the shelter environment caused anxiety and made it difficult for volunteers who were not experienced with her breed to handle her energy levels. Attempts were made to medicate her but this smart girl would eat everything but the medication. No one wishes to be unnecessarily sedated, so we didn't blame her one bit!

Because she was refusing to voluntarily swallow sedatives and the volunteers were not comfortable hand-feeding them to her, she was deemed a behavioral risk and scheduled for euthanasia.
We couldn't let a refusal of sedatives in cheese be the end of this incredibly sweet and intelligent girl's story so she joined the Misfit Family with hours to spare.

Looney's medical intake revealed she was a happy and healthy girl who appeared that she may have already been spayed, despite her transfer notes. We were able to confirm her spay and so surgery was not needed.
​She is up to date on vaccinations and microchipped.
​
Looney is an incredibly smart girl who is flying through our obedience training program. Complimentary training sessions are available for her forever family to learn all of her amazing skills!
Despite her unknown past and behavior in the shelter environment, Looney has been nothing but affectionate and playful since joining the Misfit family.
​
We have successfully introduced her to a variety of people and children during her socialization with us without issue, who have all loved her adorable personality.
​
