Age Tests for Rescues

A dog‘s age determines their nutritional needs and can affect the path for medical care. It can also help determine a course for training and provide realistic expectations for activity needs and long-term placement.
🌼 Daisy is one of our sanctuary residents who is estimated to be between eight and nine years old. However, we actually don’t know for sure and due to some recent changes with her health and responsiveness to medications, the veterinarian thinks she may be older. If that were to be the case, her nutritional needs may be different than what we think and her medical treatment plan may need to be changed.
❤️🩹 Daisy is just one of the dogs in our care that is in need of age verification. While it’s not an exact science, testing provides an estimated date of birth that can be used for medical records, care plans and as a day for the dog to be celebrated.
🧬 We are currently in need of four age tests and are looking to find sponsors to make this happen. The current price for each test is $120 and every donation will help us reach the goal of being able to test them. We’ll announce each test as it’s being done and share the results with everyone.
❤️ If you’d like to sponsor an age test for one or more of the dogs, we are sharing the link to the sponsor page in our stories today. You can also send us a message and we’ll send you the link directly. If you would like to be tagged in the dog’s testing journey, there’s a spot on the form to let us know and provide your profile information.
🙏🏼 Thank you for following our rescue journey and for your support!
