One of the things we are most passionate about is preventing dogs from ending up in the shelter system in the first place. Sometimes, all it takes is a little community support to keep a dog with its family long term.
🧍🏻♀️Single members of our military that are stationed here in Las Vegas, sometimes find themselves with orders that take them away from home. Some of these military members are here in Las Vegas with their dogs, without local friends and family to help care for them while they’re away.
👏🏼 This is why we started our military foster program a few years ago.
👉🏼 Crush is a 4 year old Belgian Malinois whose owner has orders overseas through March 2026, without local friends and family to help care for her dogs. He is a temporary resident of Misfit Ranch, along with his packmate Luna, until their owner returns home.

❤️🩹 During his intake exam, it was discovered that Crush had cryptorchidism. This is a condition where one testicle doesn’t descend, significantly increasing the risk of cancer. Misfit Ranch provided Crush a full set of vaccinations, microchipping and neuter same day. Thankfully he was brought to us for care so we could assist in getting this urgent medical need taken care of.
🏥 In addition, one if his ears was found to be severely infected, causing pain and impacting neck mobility. We were able to get his ears cleaned out while he was sedated for neuter, have medications prescribed so we can help to get him feeling better and also have cultures done so we can find the cause infection and take steps to prevent it from returning.

🐶🐶 We only have the space for two military fosters at a time and we are full through spring of 2026. This is why our expansion is so incredibly important and can greatly benefit our local community.
👉🏼 Our military fosters are listed on our resident page. You could read more about our military foster program and our military foster pup Crush by visiting his page.
