Protecting the Misfits Comes First
The safety, privacy, and security of every dog in our care is one of our highest priorities. For that reason, we do not publicly disclose the exact location of our ranch or provide our physical location to the general public.
While our mailing address is available for correspondence, our physical location is intentionally kept private.
There are several reasons for this policy.
Private, Off-Grid Property
Our ranch is located on private, off-grid property. We intentionally chose this setting to provide a safe, quiet environment where dogs can decompress, heal, learn, and thrive. Because the property does not require a county-assigned physical address, we have intentionally chosen not to obtain one. Protecting the privacy of the property and everyone who lives and works here is an important part of our operation.
Safety of Every Dog in Our Care
Every Misfit that comes through our rescue deserves a safe and secure environment. Some of our Misfits have had complex behavioral or legal histories that require an added level of privacy. Some dogs entering our care may be involved in ongoing investigations or have come from situations involving abuse, neglect, or other sensitive circumstances.
Unfortunately, rescue organizations and certain dog breeds have also been targeted by individuals with harmful intentions. Limiting public access to our exact location is one of many measures we take to protect every dog entrusted to us.
Protection of Working Dogs
Our rescue efforts are made possible through funding provided by our boarding and training company, All Out K9. All Out K9 has extensive experience working with and boarding working dogs, including dogs whose handlers are employed in security, law enforcement, and other professional fields.
Many of these clients require confidentiality regarding where their dogs are housed and cared for. In many cases, those privacy requirements are included in contractual agreements. Working dogs are valuable assets and, unfortunately, can become targets for individuals involved in criminal activity. Maintaining the confidentiality of our location helps protect both the dogs and the people who rely on them.
Looking Toward the Future
While many municipal shelters—and a small number of long-established rescue organizations—offer public walk-throughs, most privately operated rescues do not. Misfit Ranch is a private, family-run rescue and, at this time, is not open to the public.
That said...
Inviting our community to the Ranch has always been part of our dream. From the very beginning, we've imagined creating a welcoming space where supporters could meet the Misfits, volunteer alongside us, attend educational events, and experience the Ranch firsthand. Unfortunately, making that vision a reality involves much more than simply opening our gates.
Building A Place To Welcome You
Our long-term plan is to develop a dedicated Visitor Center on a separate portion of the property.
This space would allow members of our community to safely visit the Ranch while protecting the privacy and routines of the dogs who need a quieter environment, as well as the families and working dogs served through All Out K9.
Creating a separate visitor area would also allow us to meet county zoning requirements, insurance regulations, accessibility standards, and other legal requirements necessary to welcome the public legally and responsibly.
It's a project we're incredibly excited about—but one that will take time.
One Step At A Time
Right now, our priority is completing the first phase of the Ranch and expanding our capacity to save more dogs.
That means finishing essential infrastructure projects, expanding our facilities, and ensuring every Misfit receives the highest level of care possible.
Only after those foundational projects are complete can we begin developing the Visitor Center and the additional facilities required to welcome the public.
Like many nonprofits, our resources are finite, and every decision we make is guided by one question:
"What's best for the dogs?" For now, the answer is continuing to invest in the Ranch itself.

How You Can Meet the Misfits Now
If you'd love to meet one or more of the Misfits but are not looking to adopt, you'll find us participating in seasonal pack walks, meet-and-greets, educational events, and community fundraisers throughout the Las Vegas and Henderson area.
Although the Ranch itself isn't open to the public, we love connecting with our community and these events allow us to introduce the Misfits to our community in an environment that's safe, comfortable, and appropriate for each individual dog.
